A walk around the lake

A short distance north from Oslo city center is a lake called Songsvann. The lake is a popular area, used as a camping, picnicking and bathing destination during the summer, as well as a cross-country skiing, skating and ice fishing destination in the winter.

The trail around the lake is 3.3 km and is perfect for early morning walks. With me, I had my mobile and the Hasselblad. It was a relief and very fun to only concentrate on this setup - I shot much more with my mobile compared to when I carry a digital camera.

For the first time I used the Sekonic L-398A analog light meter. The good guy Johnny Patience convinced me to get one, when I met him and Rebecca here in Oslo. I do not regret! It seems very accurate, is easy to use and not least; it uses no battery. The classic look is also a nice bonus. If you are interested in metering for film I recommend Johnny´s blog post about this topic.

All photos are taken with Hasselblad 501cm + Kodak Portra 400. Films are developed & scanned by Richard Photo Lab in California.
